Miss Grapevine and Miss Teen Grapevine Pageant
Whether you want to become a doctor, an accountant, or an architect, the Miss America Organization provides the opportunity to help many young women achieve their long-term goals. You may find many of these fine women vying for the title of 2010 Miss Grapevine and Miss Teen Grapevine. Tara Watson, Miss America 2000, will host the Grapevine pageant. Among the panel of judges for the pageant sits eligible bachelor Jake Pavelka, a contestant from the most recent season of The Bachelorette. Pavelka, 31, is a commercial pilot from Dallas, Texas and is known for being “too perfect”. The Miss Grapevine and Miss Teen Grapevine Pageant are local preliminaries of the Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Pageants.

Grapevine Vintage Railroad
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include “Puffy” the 1896 steam locomotive and oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, and $18 for seniors.
Labor Day Train
You work hard all year long. Enjoy your day off from laboring and hop aboard the train for a relaxing trip down the rails. This special Monday train operates on September 7 on the same schedule as the regular weekend train runs.
Grandparents’ Day Train
Treat Grandma and Grandpa for some great fun on the train. Create some great memories with all of the generations of your family. All grandparents ride for free on September 13 when accompanied by a grandchild.
Murder Mystery Train

Our recently-restored Caboose is the perfect addition to a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. This air-conditioned car is great for parties of 12 or fewer people. Whether it’s for a child’s birthday party or girls getaway weekend, this private coach is a great way to travel the rails.

9/11 Flight Crew Memorial Ceremonies
Lowering of the Flag
Join members of 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial Foundation, as they honor the firefighters, police officers and flight crew members who lost their lives on that tragic day. There will be two separate remembrances. The first will be a “Lowering of the Flag” ceremony at 7:30 a.m. where the flags at the memorial will be lowered to half staff. The other will be a Candlelight Vigil at 8 p.m. where images of those lost will be shown, as participants raise candles in remembrance. The memorial is located at 1000 Texan Trail.
