Scare up some spooktacular fun in Grapevine this October. From Halloween thrills and chills to family-friendly events, you’ll find a pumpkin full of favorites this month!

Butterfly
16th Annual Butterfly Flutterby
Grapevine Botanical Gardens
Saturday, October 19

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Celebrating the migration of the monarch butterfly, the day begins with a Butterfly Costume Parade. This year, the parade will follow a brand new route, starting at East Wall and Jenkins Streets (across from City Hall) and ending at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park.

Children and pets are invited to wear their favorite butterfly costume for the Parade. Registration for the Costume Parade begins at 8:45 a.m., with the Parade beginning at 10 a.m. followed by live butterfly releases and butterfly events.

13th Annual Fall Round-Up at Nash Farm

Admission is free but some activities require a participation fee. Activities include kitchen gardening, live music, farm animals, blacksmith and wood carving demonstrations, cotton picking, heritage toys, wood-burning stove cooking demonstrations, petting zoo, heritage games and more.

Host of “The Penny Gilley Show” on RFD-TV, this evening will be Penny’s first concert in Grapevine after a four year run in Branson. Master impressionist Mike Walker, a regular on Penny’s show, will also be in attendance. Tickets $25.

Join the Grapevine Vintage Railroad in welcoming “Puffy”, the 1896 Steam Engine, back into service. This special train run is a one and a half hour continuous ride. Tickets are $20.

Chillin’ Train of Horror

7 p.m.

Are you ready for the Chillin’ Train of Horror? This special train excursion aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad features appetizers, beer and wine along with ghost riders and an appearance by the headless horseman. This train ride is for guests 21 and up. Tickets are $40 and must be purchased in advance.

Bring your little ghosts and goblins to Grapevine’s Historic Nash Farm for Bewitched by the Barn. Presented by the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers, this free family event features stories that become scarier as the night progresses. Guests will enjoy free popcorn and hot cider. Make sure to bring flashlights, chairs and blankets. Free admission.

Tickets are $45 in advance, $50 at the door and can be picked up at Cross Timbers Winery, 805 N. Main St., beginning at 10 a.m. Guests must be 21 and older.
